Green Gable was a perfect spot for our families quick trip up the mountain. The Cottage was easy to find in a very quiet neighborhood in Sugarloaf, just a stone's throw from all the action in Big Bear. The cabin was very clean, adorably decorated and had a very functional open layout for the family room, kitchen, and dining area. I would definitely recommend the cabin, even though it's not directly in Big Bear, its such a short drive and such a quiet neighborhood, you won't be disappointed.

Our family weekend vacation turned into a nightmare when we found we had been scammed out of a lodge by a dubious Craigslist listing upon arriving Saturday afternoon in Big Bear. After calling nearly every hotel in town and numerous cabin listings, all with no vacancy due to a very powdery weekend, we were ecstatic to find Green Gable Cottage. John, the owner, was gracious and helpful and after hearing our plight, even sent us traffic updates and called/texted to inquire about our well-being from time to time. The cottage was storybook sweet. Four twin beds in one room paired with a master bedroom with a queen bed. Two bathrooms and a kitchen complete with cooking and serving utensils. Our family made use of the game and video supply. We watched Underdog and played Songburst. We watched the snow fall from the patio adjacent to the MBR. Plenty of extra blankets and even a couple of flannel shirts hanging in the closet for especially cold evenings. The MBR also had a bookshelf in the closet with a variety of bestsellers. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet and the house was complete with a few assorted Christmas decorations for a seasonal touch. We will definitely give them our repeat business.

Hello. We had so much fun as always. It is a very nice, cozy, clean place to stay. The owner is very kind and understanding. Other cabins/cottages are way to expensive, but this cottage has low price and it is very fair. It is very warm and comfortable to stay during winter, and at anytime of the year. Its like when you enter to that doo,you have the wonderful feeling to stay and believe me, its very fun and has everything you need in there. Thank You Mr. John for maintaining the low price :)

My family and I have stayed in this lovely cabin 4 times. The reason we keep coming back is how clean, comfortable and warm feeling we get from staying here. Plus we love how it's decorated! The owner even put up a Christmas tree for us! Also he has always been very good about communicating with us. Hope to be back soon??

My family has been renting this cabin for 10+ years! Now I bring my kids =) it’s always super clean and cutely decorated. We enjoy our stay every time!

We stayed at Green Gable Cottage over the last weekend and really enjoyed it. Cottage is very clean and a nice size. My grand kids loved the decorations - bear lamps and especially the "salmon" drawer and cabinet pulls. It's very homey and comfortable. John (owner) is easy to work with and I would recommend staying at Green Gable if you are looking for a cabin in the area. We will definitely stay again when we go back up to Big Bear.

We enjoyed our stay at the Green Gable Cottage. This was our 4th time back and for sure will be back next year! Your home was nice and clean as always and had everything we needed for our stay. From the cozy rooms, the games and the kitchen all were great. We even got a few inches of snow today. Great family vacation. Thank you so much and we will be back again.

First of all the location of this cabin is a big plus. Tucked away in an out of the way residential neighborhood, you can enjoy the benefit of peace and quiet instead of traffic. The four of us all enjoyed the size layout and decor of the inside. They provided just about everything you could ask for. It's a bit more of a drive to the shops in downtown but isn't that part of "getting away?". The price was very affordable and the consensus of our party was that we needed to come back here again. Another nice thing is it's proximity to Highway 38 because it was a breeze to get home, plus the drive alone makes it worth it. I had never taken that route before but if I'm going to Big Bear then that's gonna be my choice. 5 stars for sure!

My weekend stay at the cottage was a most enjoyable experience. I have never felt more at home while being away from home. The cottage is richly decorated in country/cabin style, with so much attention to detail. Every room is beautifully decorated and impressively neat and clean. The master bedroom looks out onto the porch and nearby trees. In the evening a heavenly cooling breeze comes in through the patio door. The owners are very gracious in extending their lovely cabin to guests. I will definitely be a return guest. Ute

As always GGC is great. We enjoy our stay here. This year was challenging due to child with ear infection. Ended up in ER & another child with tooth ache. Dr. Noble was great with my son. Not quite the family vacation we planned, but memories made!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Green Gable Cottage this past weekend. The cabin is very clean and has lots of amenities. Also, we were only 10 minutes from Snow Summit where the adults can ski and the kids can go tubing at the new Grizzly Tubing Park on the slopes. The owners of the cabin are very quick to respond to questions and are very pleasant to deal with.

Everybody loved the cabin. There were 7 of us, plenty of room for everybody. The cabin is spacious, clean, very cozy and thoughtfully decorated. Everything worked, we had everything we needed. The instructions were clear and detailed. Easy drive to the slopes. We had a lot of fun skiing and just experiencing the mountains and the forest. Thank you John for renting this cabin to us. Very reasonable price.

This was our first time in this cabin and it certainly won't be our last! We thought it was a very clean and beautiful cottage. It felt like home and it was one of the best cabins we've stayed in.

We have stayed several times at Green Gable Cottage. We always find it clean and cozy. It is our home away from home. John and Maureen have always been accommodating and have provided all the amenities we look for when vacationing. We would definitely recommend Green Gable Cottage.

Labor day is a family vacation at Green Gable Cottage and it's wonderful place to stay. The cottage is nice and clean!! This place is like home away from home.

Great Experience & great weather. We've stayed in a few different cabins in Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs and Big Bear. This is by far our favorite cabin. We won't even consider staying somewhere else now.

Yipee. We found a good one. Dumb luck on a web search? I maybe so. It was as described and more. Nice amenities. We'll be back.

Green Gables Cottage is wonderful. We have been coming for a few years now. Its cozy, clean, & cheerful. Many games, movies, internet, washer/dryer. Fireplace & BBQ. My boys love the legos & the skate park nearby. I love the non-partying neighborhood.

My wife and I have stayed here on three different occasions and we have loved it each time. It was clean and there were many extras just waiting for us when we arrived. Very reasonable!! Thank you.

The entire visit from booking the cottage to the time we received our deposit refund was painless, organized and efficient. The cottage was clean, more than sufficient for a family of 6, well stocked with the necessities and more! We have visited this cottage twice now and will most definitely visit it again when we have the chance.

Everything at Green Gable cottage was neat, clean, and cozy as always.That is why our family has (mini) vacationed here for 8 years.

We have stayed here a few times. This cabin is cute, fresh, cozy & clean. My boys love it. The owners have legos, cards, chess, internet for guests. I feel that a great deal of thought went into decorating & caring for this cabin has been done throughout the years. It is a great area for familes with sugarloaf park close (1mile or less) by skateboard park, basketball court, playarea. I love staying at Green Gables Cottage. It has such a happy vibe/aura. We will definitly be back again.

When we arrived, we were surprised when we opened the front door. The interior was amazing, my son said "it was very homey and welcoming" and it was above and beyond our expectation. The price was very, very reasonable. The location was very accessible. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back again.

I/we loved the cabin! It was clean, wonderfully decorated and had everything a guest can ask for in a cabin. The details that John had in the cabin were great I.e. lanterns, beautiful coffee mugs, wine glasses, Zip lock bags, sheets, extra blankets, Lego toys, dvd's, candles and lets not forget the step by step instructions for the use of the dvd player lol..etc. Btw the fireplace is great. This cabin by far competes with the "nicer" cabins in big bear

1. Was the house clean when you arrived? Yes, the house was very clean when we arrived. It was a welcome cozy house. 2. Where you able to find specific items? Yes, we found everything we needed. My grandson was so excited to find Legos! We were happy to find little necessities like sugar, etc. 3. Were the directions and maps easy to understand? The maps were an excellent resource. Thank you 4. Did it suit your needs? You could tell the house is a special home for someone who is willing to share. 5. Was it easy to clean when you left? It was great to have cleaning supplies in each bathroom. 6. Would you add anything? Everything was great. Looking forward to another time to stay with you.

The Green Gable is a delight. The layout is perfect, and the condition is first class. I especially liked having two bathrooms. It's the only place I'd consider when visiting Big Bear. John K Shingle Springs, Ca. (Sacramento area)

We found the accommodations very cozy and comfortable. The cabin is very well equipped and everything is easy to find. Our stay was very enjoyable.

It's not often that advertising lives up to one's expectations. This was an EXCEPTION!! We are very pleased with absolutely everything. We wanted a quiet comfy little place to unwind...and unwind we did. In order of events: Unpacked-napped-ate-napped-took a walk-napped-ate-napped-relaxed-watched tv-napped-ate.....okay you're getting the idea. Clean, tastefully decorated, full featured with all necessary utensils. We expect to return as often as we can....thank you John for your diligence.

A fabulous vacation get away that's not too far to drive to. It's perfect for a family or for a romantic getaway as well. The amenities make it comfortable and stress free. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us again. We enjoyed visiting Big Bear and staying to your peaceful, quiet and cozy place. Althought, it didn't snow on the weekend we stayed, we had fun skiing and snow boarding at Big Bear Mountain and having a nice place/house to relax and spending the night. We will return again and stay here.

Green Gable Cottage is our favorite vacation "home away from home"!! It is a real cozy cottage, very clean and beautifully decorated. The owners have thought of every convenience! The booking process is very simple and they provide directions for everything including driving! This was not our first visit and definitely won't be our last!! As much as we would like to keep Green Gable Cottage our little secret, we really would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Big Bear area. The pictures don't do it justice!
